They are both roughly 7' by 4' an created using loading dock palettes as the initial frame work, as well as house paint and collaged materials to create the image.

Artist Statement

My work deals with the slow grasping of a narrative and the way that a construction of an image may seem unbridled but upon further inspection begins to reveal certain details that focus the painting. In fabricating these pieces I play with the idea of a psychological space or, the physical representation of the place where a persons thoughts are stored. In a totally out of control space having such a small detail can take the viewer out of a whirl-wind of texture and color and the place them firmly upright on the ground inside these spaces. Once inside the painting recognizable elements begin to create a story that is more about what is unknown then what is known, allowing imagination and reactions to color and texture to take over. While making these works I allow for lines of perspective to twist and sag with the material that i am working with in order to create a visual loss of balance that can never be attained again within that piece.
